Advanced Biomedical Materials Innovation Community Construction Seminar Successfully Held

On July 27, the China (Weihai) New Materials Industry Innovation and Development Conference and the 2021 Weihai International Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conference opened. With the theme of "new materials, new kinetic energy, new cooperation and new development", the conference attracted more than 100 academicians, experts, leaders of leading enterprises, etc. At the opening ceremony, 18 major key technologies in the field of new materials were released, 6 major cooperation agreements were signed on the spot, and 3 major research institutes and innovation centers were unveiled on the spot.

In the afternoon of the same day, the Weigao sub-forum of the seminar on the construction of advanced biomedical materials innovation community was held. About 50 people from Weigao, including Zhang Huawei, Longjing, Yanxia and representatives of 18 universities, institutes and enterprises, participated in the meeting. By promoting the active connection and in-depth cooperation between experts and enterprise projects, the advanced biomedical materials industry will be promoted to achieve innovative development.

At the meeting, Wang Xinsheng, Deputy Director of Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Hou Chengyang, Member of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Weihai High-tech Zone delivered speeches respectively. He gave keynote speeches on "Opportunities and Challenges Facing my country's Medical Materials" and "Developing my country's Independent and Controllable Medical Polymer Materials". Long Jing presided over the meeting.

This forum, in line with the concept of "complementary advantages, seeking practical results, benefit sharing, and win-win development", proposes to integrate resources with the upstream and downstream core units of the industrial chain and supply chain, build an advanced biomedical material innovation community, and promote technological innovation and development. Industrial transformation, solve the problem of stuck neck of biomedical materials, reduce supply chain risks, and reduce international constraints, thereby improving the technical level and international competitiveness of China's biomedical materials and medical device industries, and ensuring the national strategic safety of biomedical materials and medical and health industries.

On the day of the event, some participants also made keynote reports on the innovation and development of advanced biomedical materials. Academicians, experts and business representatives offered wisdom and suggestions around the development needs of the new material industry, seeking common development, and conducted a detailed discussion on the construction of an innovation community.
